Business Development Manager (Rkbdm)

Main job function

1. Responsible for transacting a renewable energy project from origination to financial close including negotiating power purchase agreements, lender agreements, and other project documents.
2. Managing tenders and proposals to secure offtakers and opportunities.
3. Collaborate and coordinate with the finance, ESG, and technical teams.
4. Lead the PPA process to signature and CP fulfilment.
5. Manage and lead due diligence for pipeline and project acquisitions.
6. Negotiate lender mandates through to financial close and CP fulfilment.
7. Prepare and present presentations at the investment committee.
8. Manage and nurture relationships with stakeholders such as lenders, funders, offtakers, and public partners.
9. Lead the project financial model and its audit.
10. Contribute to business development strategy and product development in conjunction with the Executive team.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, law, or other applicable fields.

Criteria

1. Minimum 3 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, specifically relating to financial close of utility-scale projects and/or PPA negotiation.
2. REIPPP experience is advantageous but not a mandatory requirement.
3. Able to demonstrate an understanding of renewable energy technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory frameworks in South Africa.
4. Strong understanding of the Project Finance framework in South African renewable energy transactions.
5. Financial modelling experience and understanding of key inputs and the impact on project economics.
