JOB TITLE: Business Development Manager

DEPARTMENT: Commercial & Industrial (Fleet)

REPORTING TO: Regional Sales Director

LOCATION: South Africa

ADDITIONAL INFO: Must have own reliable transport and drivers' license.

Will be required to travel.

PURPOSE OF POSITION: The primary objective is to drive profitable growth of Commercial products and solutions in line with the accelerated growth strategy.

Is responsible to assist the Commercial business unit grow its market share within the commercial sector through strategic initiatives that will result in revenue growth in the country.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Grow revenue through defining and driving strategic sales initiatives.
  2. Drive new customer growth and ensure cultivation of strategic customer relationships.
  3. Continuous growth of the sales funnel, accurately capture on Salesforce and ensure effective close out rate.
  4. Conduct market research and provide solid field and marketing strategy to grow the commercial business.
  5. Responsible for resolution of key customer complaints and follow ups.
  6. Stakeholder management - become the single point of contact for his / her portfolio.
  7. Compile product preparations and solution proposals to expose commercial customers to full GVR product basket and obtain buy in.
  8. Execute on projected forecast to achieve predetermined revenue and funnel targets.
  9. Have a view of all account activities globally and inform business of any key developments.
  10. Sales administration and reporting.
  11. Follow-up on accounts receivable.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Education / achievements: Tertiary qualification in Engineering / Sales and Marketing or related. Honour's / master's degree will be an added advantage.

Experience / Knowledge: At least 5 years proven track record in solution selling. Extensive solution sales experience preferably in the commercial sector.

Exposure to commercial sales / KAM may be advantageous.

Specific Skills:

  1. Negotiation skills: Great at navigating customer negotiations, considering both short term and long-term implications, and landing deals that are win / win for the customer and the business.
  2. Presentation skills: Comfortable presenting in front of customer groups with diverse backgrounds (commercial, technical, senior executive).
  3. Analytical skills: Comfortable consuming customer, market, and business data to derive insights useful in driving business growth and solving business problems.
  4. Results orientated: Drives innovation and growth.
  5. Customer oriented: Solution sales, self-motivated and great interpersonal skills.

Potential Skills: Thorough knowledge of relevant market, market development experience, strategic / tactical planning and execution.
