About The Opportunity

As a Business Development Manager, you’ll play a key role in expanding our footprint within the travel industry. Your mission will be to identify new business opportunities, build relationships, and execute sales initiatives through meeting sales targets to acquire and grow client accounts. By delivering tailored solutions and fostering long-term partnerships, you’ll ensure we exceed revenue targets. You’ll work within a high-energy, collaborative Sales Pod, partnering with Sales Pod Leaders, fellow Business Development Managers, Customer Success Managers, and cross-functional teams to drive seamless client experiences and embed our solutions into their businesses. Your contributions will strengthen our market presence and position Wetu as a trusted partner in the travel SaaS landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  1. New Business Development: Identify, engage and convert new business opportunities. Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through consistent outreach, networking, and lead generation. Leverage market insights and competitor analysis to refine strategies and stay ahead of industry trends.
  2. Client Engagement: Build and nurture client relationships, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and long-term partnerships. Develop tailored proposals that clearly communicate Wetu’s value and ROI to potential clients. Establish deep relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in the travel industry. Collaborate closely with customer success managers to ensure seamless client onboarding.
  3. Sales Execution: Own the entire sales process from prospecting and pitching to negotiating and closing deals, ensuring that every client interaction is value-driven and solution-oriented. Conduct deep discovery to understand client needs, challenges, and goals, positioning Wetu’s solutions as the best-fit for their business needs.
  4. Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to align sales efforts with marketing, customer success, and product strategies. Contribute to refining and improving sales processes, tools, and best practices.
  5. Market & Industry Engagement: Represent Wetu at trade shows, conferences, and industry events, expanding our network and brand presence. Stay up to date with travel and SaaS industry trends, using insights to refine sales approaches and identify opportunities.
  6. Performance Reporting: Track sales metrics, analyse market trends, and refine strategies to drive growth.

What You Bring

  1. A proven track record in business development, sales, or account management where you’ve successfully built relationships, closed deals, and consistently exceeded targets.
  2. A strategic and client-centric mindset, you understand your clients' needs, anticipate market trends, and position solutions that deliver real value.
  3. Experience in SaaS or travel industry would be beneficial but not essential.
  4. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and guide clients through the sales process with confidence and credibility.
  5. A high work ethic and professionalism, you take ownership, show up every day, and do what it takes to succeed.
  6. You have energy, confidence, and resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
  7. Collaboration is at your core, you are able to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment between sales, customer success, and marketing to drive results.
  8. You have experience leveraging CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) to track performance, refine strategies, and optimise sales execution.
  9. You have a growth mindset, always looking for ways to improve, whether it’s refining your sales techniques, deepening your industry knowledge, or finding smarter ways to engage clients.
