Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

  1. Provide clear and consistent financial direction aligned with the 3-year strategic roadmap.
  2. Offer deep financial insights and guidance to support strategic initiatives and business expansion.
  3. Maintain transparency of financial data through robust reporting and analysis.
  4. Support the development and implementation of the full potential plan by guarding templates and enabling transparency.

Operational Excellence

  1. Drive modernization and optimization of finance structures for increased efficiency.
  2. Develop and implement tools and training to increase financial awareness across teams.
  3. Lead financial awareness programs at all levels of the organization.
  4. Identify and solve operational challenges in new markets across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Team Leadership & Culture Development

  1. Inspire and coach the Business Control team to high performance and value-driven leadership.
  2. Foster a culture of collaboration, speed, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  3. Promote leadership development and ensure employees reach their full potential.
  4. Support talent identification and succession planning across finance and other departments.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  1. Act as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
  2. Communicate the ASR vision clearly to the finance team and other departments.
  3. Prioritize and execute initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  4. Maintain a strong customer and stakeholder focus throughout all financial operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Matric Certificate (Essential)
  2. Masters Degree in Finance, Engineering, IT, or equivalent through experience
  3. Minimum 5 years experience in a similar Business Controller or Financial Leadership role within the engineering sector
  4. Valid Drivers License (Essential)
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  6. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  7. Proven track record of driving cultural and operational change
  8. Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  9. Experience working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment is advantageous
