Job description

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Financial Analysis and Reporting

Analyze financial data and generate reports to provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs), profitability, and cost management.

  1. Prepare financial statements, management reports, and forecasts for senior leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  2. Evaluate business performance against budgeted targets, and work with key departments to understand variances and recommend corrective actions.
  3. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts by gathering data and presenting detailed reports.
  1. Business Performance Analysis

Perform in-depth financial analysis of business units, product lines, and investment opportunities to help guide business decisions.

  1. Identify financial trends, market conditions, and industry benchmarks that may impact the organization's financial performance.
  2. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Sales, Operations) to assess financial implications of strategic initiatives and ensure financial goals are achieved.
  1. Financial Modeling and Forecasting

Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning.

  1. Use financial modeling to simulate business scenarios, assess potential risks, and determine optimal financial strategies.
  2. Assist in cash flow management and profitability analysis to ensure efficient use of financial resources.
  1. Process Improvement and Automation

Identify opportunities for improving financial processes, reporting systems, and tools to increase accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.

  1. Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement financial system enhancements, such as automating reporting tools or integrating new software for better data analysis.
  2. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies, maintaining a high standard of integrity and transparency in all reporting activities.
  1. Stakeholder Communication and Support

Work with finance leadership and business units to communicate financial results, explain variances, and provide insights for decision-making.

  1. Support senior finance leaders with the preparation of presentations for stakeholders, including executives and the board of directors.
  2. Provide financial guidance and support to non-finance teams, helping them to understand financial reports and their implications on the business.
  1. Risk Management and Compliance

Support risk management efforts by identifying financial risks and providing recommendations to mitigate them.

  1. Assist in ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other relevant financial regulations.
  2. Participate in audits and internal control processes to ensure financial data is accurate and consistent with organizational practices.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :

  1. Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and forecasts.
  2. Successful completion of budgeting and forecasting activities.
  3. Effective identification and analysis of financial trends and business performance issues.
  4. Successful implementation of process improvements or automation initiatives.
  5. Feedback from stakeholders regarding the value and relevance of financial analysis and recommendations.
  6. Support provided in identifying and mitigating financial risks.

Qualifications and Experience :

Education and Certification :

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree or professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or FMVA preferred).
  2. Proficiency in financial analysis, business modeling, and accounting principles.
  3. Strong working knowledge of financial software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau).

Experience :

  1. 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in Finance or a similar financial analysis role.
  2. Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  3. Familiarity with financial systems, financial modeling, and data visualization tools.
  4. Experience working in a fast-paced business environment, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  1. Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and translate data into actionable insights.
  2. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
  3. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial data and analysis to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  4. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify business problems, assess potential solutions, and propose financial strategies to address challenges.
  5. Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
  6. Technology Skills: Advanced skills in Excel and proficiency in data analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  7. Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with teams across the organization, building relationships and influencing decisions.
  8. Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
