Job Title: Experienced Bookkeeper (Buildium Expertise Preferred) Location: Remote (Latam) Contract: Independent Contractor Job Type: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, EST Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in advanced bookkeeping tasks and comfortable managing multiple processes and workflows independently. While previous experience with "Buildium" accounting software is strongly preferred, we are open to candidates with solid bookkeeping backgrounds who are eager to learn. Startup experience is a nice to have but not a requirement. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, resourceful, and capable of conducting thorough research independently before seeking guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
Maintain accurate financial records and assist with monthly and yearly close processes.
Perform detailed reviews of financial data, identifying discrepancies and correcting errors.
Process payroll and ensure tax compliance.
Work with Buildium accounting software (preferred experience).
Prepare financial reports and statements as needed, presenting them in a clear, concise manner.
Conduct thorough research to resolve accounting issues before asking for assistance, ensuring high levels of accuracy.
Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
Manage multiple workflows and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive and efficient working environment.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in bookkeeping with advanced knowledge of accounting principles.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple processes simultaneously.
Proficiency with accounting software (experience with Buildium is strongly preferred).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of tasks.
Resourceful and proactive in finding solutions and conducting research.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience in a startup environment is a plus but not required.
Strong organizational skills and a high level of accountability.
Work Environment: This is an independent role that requires self-motivation and an ability to manage various tasks effectively. While we value collaboration, we expect our Bookkeeper to be comfortable taking initiative and solving problems independently.
