The Manager will lead the drawings team, responsible for compiling drawings for the sales, security, data centre management, cabling, BMS, Service Delivery Management, Project Managers and other teams within the operational facilities. This will involve co-ordination with the Construction and TFO teams, who will hand over models to the BIM Manager on completion of their projects.
MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Compilation of federated models to capture as-built information in a centralised location (Linking building information from all relevant consultants into a singular model of truth and accurate reflection of as-built information).
Establishing protocol for generating concept layouts without influencing as-built information prior to implementation, and establish a repository for this information.
Establish, publish and implement BIM standards, protocols & processes based on best practices. Set up Company specific Revit Templates, drawing naming conventions in line with ISO standards, and centralised drawing repository of facilities, including historical projects, new projects and ad hoc operational changes.
Ensure team members and relevant internal and external stakeholders are trained in the BIM standards, protocols, processes and best practices as relevant. Standards developed or adopted internally need to be applied to the supply chain as well to see consistency in approach throughout the life cycle.
Ensure that models and drawings are reviewed, approved and filed in accordance with the company quality system.
Undertake Model Audits to ensure all internal stakeholders adhere to drawing protocol. The BIM Manager must audit/quality control the external professionals and supply chain stakeholders who produce design data e.g. Shop Drawings.
Perform cross checks between the built environment and the as-built information.
Ensure drawings are scheduled and delivered within OLAs to the standard required.
Facilitate consultation between colleagues, external professional consultants and clients in designing, layout or detailing components and systems to resolve technical problems.
Work closely with the internal teams and Independent Architects, to ensure as-built data fidelity is maintained for existing facilities i.e. ensuring that where/when change occurs within the built environment post Infrastructure Development Department handover to Operations and IM.
Collect and collate historic design data for existing facilities and/or re-producing as-built data for facilities delivered prior to the inception of BIM at Teraco. This includes identifying subject areas which have not traditionally had drawings compiled, and developing a plan to address all areas over a period of time.
Establish SharePoint PDF drawings repository, for day-to-day access of internal stakeholders.
Establish processes with the Infrastructure Management Document Controller(s) to ensure records are correctly stored, labelled and tagged in SharePoint.
Work with the Infrastructure Development team to establish ACC workflows to accommodate operational updates to Infrastructure Development Revit Models, prior to handover of federated design models when final TFO fitout is completed.
Evaluate and implement new BIM tools, methodologies and technologies.
Monitor and report on BIM process performance. Implement changes to enhance efficiency.
