We have an amazing opportunity for a Betting Clerk to be based in Worcester, Western Cape. Do you think you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star?

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the operations of the branch in terms of taking customer bets, increasing stakes, managing cash, doing pay-outs, customer service, and compliance.

• 1 – 2 years’ experience in the gaming industry

What You’ll Do for The Brand:

Branch Growth

• Ensure betting boards are updated timeously.
• Update memos, card changes, results, and scratchings which occur throughout the day.
• Be knowledgeable on all betting rules, odds, and pay-outs.
• Inform the Team Leaders/Betting Manager when laying large bets that do not require confirmation.

Sales Administration

• Manage cash within the branch according to defined processes/procedures to minimize risks of theft/fraud.
• Be alert to emerging attempts to defraud the company.

Cash Management

• Ensure accurate float amounts at the beginning of the shift for end-of-day balancing.
• Conduct interim checks during the day with the team leader on duty.
• Address cash shortages immediately; shortages less than R250.00 must be paid back into Hollywood on the same day.
• Declare all shortages and overs to the team leader on duty and record correctly on the recon.

Branch Appearance

• Maintain the branch in a neat and tidy condition according to Hollywood standards.
• Ensure workstations are well maintained and in good working condition.
• Comply with all procedures to prevent losses to the company and promptly advise branch/senior team leaders of any problems/malfunctions with terminals/equipment/resources (e.g., TV display of results, offline).

Customer Service

• Provide good customer service by being friendly, helpful, polite, and courteous at all times.
• Proactively address customer complaints and ensure positive feedback is given.
• Build strong relationships with regular customers.
• Create a customer-centric culture within the branch and drive the philosophy of “service with a smile” at all times.
