Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage the installation and administration of IBM Spectrum Protect and Veeam Enterprise Backup Software
2. Implementing and maintaining backup retention policies in line with business requirements
3. Implementing, maintaining and documenting recovery procedures aligned to DR policy
4. Daily / Weekly / Monthly / Yearly backups monitoring and health checks
5. Problem resolution and fault finding
6. Ensuring that security standards are adhered to
7. Testing and evaluating new backup software and hardware features
8. Providing support and technical advice operationally and for projects

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Relevant tertiary qualification and / or software certifications
2. A minimum of 5 years relevant Back Engineer experience

Skills:

1. IBM Spectrum Protect and Veeam Backup software
2. Network protocols (TCP / IP), Windows
3. Redhat Linux - and AIX Unix Server Systems
4. Technical Project Management
5. ITIL or similar service management principles
6. Familiarity with VMWare ESX be an advantage
