Job Description

Are you an AWS maestro with a flair for transforming complex infrastructures into seamless, high-performing environments?

Join our innovative iKTribe to push the boundaries of cloud technology while shaping the future of how we manage and optimize mission-critical systems!

So, what will you do?

  1. You will be responsible for managing resources such as Server instances (EC2) and Databases (RDS/MySQL) as well as managing security including IAM, GuardDuty, AWS Inspector, AWS Detective, Network Access Control within the AWS Cloud environment.
  2. You will also be responsible for server setup and administration, system monitoring, ensuring systems are operational as well as ensuring system stability and uptime.
  3. Your role will also entail ensuring that industry standards and best practices are followed.
In addition to the above, you will:

  1. Manage Resources (Server instances (EC2), Databases (RDS/MySQL), Access Control (IAM)) within the AWS Cloud environment and ensure that industry standards and best practices are followed.
  2. Ensure minimum downtime, incident response, root cause analysis and problem solving.
  3. Configure and manage Linux server instances, make sure all platforms are up to date. Automate as much as possible using AWS System Manager and AWS Inspector.
  4. Implement continuous monitoring of security events using AWS CloudTrail, AWS Config, and AWS GuardDuty, ensuring timely detection and response to security incidents.
  5. Perform regular backups using AWS backup service for RDS, EC2 and DynamoDB. Use S3 versioning for objects stored in S3.
  6. Address and resolve development support tickets that have been logged.
  7. Ensure all services running on AWS are secure using AWS security best practices.
  8. Participate in design reviews.
Qualifications

At least one of the following Cloud Certifications (administrator or associate level), such as:

  1. AWS: AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
  2. Azure: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  3. Google Cloud: Google Cloud Certified Associate Cloud Engineer
Additional relevant certifications (advantageous):

  1. CompTIA Security+
  2. Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
Deal Breakers:

3+ years of experience as a SysOps Engineer or in a similar role (e.g., Cloud Engineer, System Administrator) as well as experience in the following:

  1. In-depth knowledge of managing Linux-based systems - comfortable in a bash shell terminal.
  2. Solid knowledge of networking concepts including CIDR and subnet configuration.
  3. Experience in cloud security configuration and monitoring.
  4. Basic to intermediate scripting in a language such as Bash / Python as well as basic to intermediate SQL skills.
  5. Experience working in a cloud-based environment as well as Cyber Security.
  6. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Pulumi.
In addition to the above, the experience in the following technologies, domains and best practices will make you a frontrunner for the role:

  1. PCI DSS experience
  2. Docker
  3. Virtualization
  4. MySQL/Postgres
  5. NoSQL
  6. Cloud Functions
  7. Datadog/Dynatrace
