Automation Tester

Purpose of the Position:
The role involves ensuring the delivery of a meticulously structured and standard-designed quality assurance solution,
overseeing both manual and automation-related activities across all assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Delivery
1. Develop, review, and execute manual and automation tests.
2. Define testing scope and apply appropriate test techniques for comprehensive coverage.
3. Analyze manual and automation results, proposing effective solutions.
4. Contribute to test planning and effort estimation.
5. Create manual test cases or scenarios aligned with requirements.
6. Obtain or generate necessary test data in collaboration with stakeholders.
7. Log, verify, and monitor defects, documentation, and test outcomes.
8. Establish and maintain reusable test artifacts.
9. Provide input on the schedule and sequence of testing activities.
10. Ensure compliance with test policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
11. Participate in all project life cycle phases, including requirements analysis, test planning, execution, reporting, and assessment.
12. Implement relevant test measurements and metrics within the release/product and testing team.
13. Collaborate effectively within an agile team, contributing to the analysis, design, development, and testing of high-quality software.
14. Engage with various stakeholders throughout the testing process.

Skills:

1. Proficient with testing tools such as Jira, ALM, Selenium, UFT, Cucumber, JMeter, and other licensed or open source options.
2. Limited experience in test automation, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
3. Capable of translating complex technical issues into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
4. Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, applications, and systems engineering across the organization.
5. Persuasive communication skills to effectively influence acceptance, agreement, commitment, and behavior change.
6. Ability to prioritize and organize critical elements of a course of action to achieve objectives.
7. Proactive in anticipating future problems and opportunities.

Experience:

1. Minimum of 3 - 7 years of experience in software testing with increasing levels of responsibility.
2. Minimum of 1 year of experience in automation testing.
3. Experience in manual, automation, performance, and security testing.
4. Familiarity with Automation Testing Lifecycle Management.
5. Limited knowledge of testing networking equipment viz. routers and switches.
6. Ability to analyze existing test cases and ability to write new test cases for routers and switches.
7. Limited understanding of various wifi and ethernet connection and security standards/methods as well as how to configure and set them.
8. Various testing techniques viz. regression testing across various router firmware versions.
9. Limited experience in load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust, LoadRunner, RPT, Skill Performer).
10. Experience in testing standalone applications.
11. Limited experience in monitoring tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, and New Relic (will be an added advantage).
12. Basic knowledge of relational databases.
13. Familiarity with the software development process, including Agile development methodologies.
14. Proficient in debugging network-related issues and reporting them for resolution.
15. Experience in both functional and non-functional testing.

Qualifications:

1. B.Sc. (Computer Science and Computer Engineering) or similar qualifications.
2. ISTQB Foundation Level (Advanced level preferable).
3. Leadership training or courses can be advantageous.
