Automation Engineer

A leading financial services organisation providing stockbroking and investment management services is seeking a Chief Investment Officer to lead their investment team in Johannesburg.

As a member of the leadership team at this diverse and thriving company, the primary objective of this position will be to oversee the company's portfolio of investments, manage a team of financial analysts, and work closely with the CEO to set the company's overall investment strategy.

The Chief Investment Officer position requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in investment management and financial strategy.

Key qualifications and experience required for the Chief Investment Officer:

1. Postgraduate Degree in Finance, Investments, Actuarial Sciences or similar
2. Fully qualified CFA
3. 10 – 15 years' experience within the investment sector
4. Current or prior experience within a securities / stockbroking business will be highly preferred
5. Proven leadership experience
6. Strong understanding of financial markets, investment strategies and equity research
7. Systems knowledge: Bloomberg, FactSet, Equities RT (to name a few)

Key duties of the Chief Investment Officer:

1. Develop and implement investment strategies that align with the company's business goals
2. Manage and oversee the company's portfolio of investments
3. Lead and mentor a team of financial analysts
4. Work closely with the CEO to set the company's overall investment strategy
5. Monitor market trends and adjust investment strategies as necessary
6. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
