Audit Manager (CA)

A medium sized, independently owned Accounting and Auditing firm in Port Elizabeth, is looking for a qualified CA to join their team as an Audit Manager.

POSITION INFO :

Minimum Requirements :

1. Minimum 1-2 years' previous experience in an Audit Supervisor / Manager role.
2. Post-articles experience in Private Sector External Auditing is advantageous.
3. Proven experience in supervising or leading teams successfully is advantageous.
4. Fully computer literate: Working knowledge of CaseWare, Excel and Word.
5. Experience in compilations, reviews and audits (including attorney trust, estate agent, body corporate, SME audits).
6. A thorough knowledge of IFRS for SMEs; IFRS; ISA; and taxation.
7. A valid driver’s license, with own transport.
8. Good communication skills and innovative.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
10. Ability to work independently and in a team.

Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Exposure to: Valuations, Advisory, Due diligence, Corporate.
2. Auditing, independent review and compilation of financial statements according to IFRS for SMEs.
3. Propose and finalize audit opinions.
4. Conduct full audit file reviews and related reports to ensure the relevant files are ready for sign off.
5. Perform tax return reviews.
6. Manage resourcing and plotting of staff members on audit engagements.
7. Work allocations as required by individual audit assignments.
8. Audit assignment budget planning and management.
9. Monitoring and evaluation of performance in relation to budget.
10. Approve timesheets.
11. Perform billings and manage WIP.
12. Performance management of staff members including continuously providing feedback to staff.
13. Reviewing trainees PSR / TSR’s and assisting in the assessment process.
14. Provide technical assistance to staff members (where required).
15. Must be able to communicate directly with clients in a professional and confident manner.
16. Compliance with firm’s audit methodology.
17. Responsible to ensure audit quality and risk management in the review process.
