Group Audit (GAudit) is an independent governance function, supporting the Audit Committee and Board of Management of MR AG in accomplishing its tasks and strategic initiatives ("Ambition 2025"). By means of our key products "Standard Audit", "Sprint Audit", and "Advisory Reports" we provide "impactful, agile and collaborative auditing services" to our clients around the globe.
You will have a matrix reporting line: functionally to the Regional Head of Audit APAC MEA, and locally to the Chief Executive Officer of Munich Reinsurance Company of Africa Ltd (MRoA). You will be in charge of all audit-related activities within MRoA and will have management responsibility of one direct report. This role is based in Johannesburg.

Your Role:
Developing a comprehensive, risk-based and impactful 6-months rolling audit plan
Providing impactful auditing services to our clients at MRoA with a focus on the core value chain of Reinsurance business (Client Management, Underwriting, Claims, FinMoRe, etc.) for all business units (P&C and LH)
Responsible for our follow-up process, to ensure all measures agreed are implemented in a timely and efficient manner
Issuing audit or advisory reports of high quality that are crispy, clear and focused
Contributing proactively to the initiatives and strategy of the One Audit Community (OAC) within MR Group and within the regional audit community
Your Profile:
Longstanding professional experience (8+ years) in internal audit, compliance, risk management or related functions, ideally in the finance or (re-)insurance industry. Relevant business experience would be an asset
Knowledge of the South African (re)insurance market and regulations
Collaborative team player, proactively sharing knowledge, and with a precise working method and intercultural competencies
High degree of integrity and commitment to the values of Munich Re
Ability to deal with complex issues
University degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Studies, Law or similar discipline
