Attorney (Job Level 8)

Duties/Pligte

The Stellenbosch University Law Clinic seeks to appoint an admitted attorney. The incumbent will be required to perform the work typically performed by a law clinician, which includes:

1. Providing legal services, including consulting, researching, drafting and litigating.
2. Supervising and mentoring candidate legal practitioners and students.
3. Providing legal education and training to candidate legal practitioners, students and to members of the community, including the poor and marginalised.
4. Managing relationships with Clinic stakeholders.
5. Conducting administration relating to all of the above activities.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

1. Admitted attorney.
2. At least three years' experience in family law, including experience in children's rights matters.
3. A valid driver's licence.
4. Computer literate.
5. The ability to work under pressure and independently.
6. Must be diligent and hardworking.
7. Must be proactive and innovative.
8. Sound interpersonal relations.
9. Competent written and verbal communicator.
10. The ability to function effectively in a multicultural environment.
