Some Responsibilities May Include

1. Conduct simple and complex tests independently.
2. Verification of results independently and interpretation of data against known sources of information.
3. Improve laboratory efficiency.
4. Ensure adherence to departmental TATs and notify direct supervisor of any delays.
5. Cleaning and disinfection of equipment.
6. Responsible for upkeep of laboratory instruments and notification to management of calibration and service requests.
7. Ensure that all analysis and related tasks are performed in accordance with OHS and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures.
8. Implementation of quality TAT corrective actions for area of responsibility.
9. Maintain acceptable proficiency scores for work conducted.
10. Ensure correct stock levels are maintained effectively for testing.
11. Manage consumable costs.
12. Timely completion of all reporting requirements and responses to any team member as required.
13. Other duties as assigned by the company within the Employee’s scope of work.

Requirements

1. National Diploma in Biotechnology or BSC Degree in Microbiology.
2. 1-2 years’ experience in microbiology laboratory.
3. Preference will be given to employment equity candidates.
