CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
To lecture at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, conduct and publish research within the disciplines of Industrial and Organisational Psychology, Employment Relations and Human Resource Management. To supervise postgraduate students, and deal with administrative work as well as to co-ordinate the Master of Commerce Employee Relations and Human Resources programme.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Facilitate teaching and learning of Industrial and Organisational Psychology, Labour Relations and Human Resources at undergraduate and post-graduate level
- Conduct and publish research in accredited journals
- Supervise postgraduate students
- Co-ordinate undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes
- Conduct academic administration and academic leadership
- Work closely with colleagues in the Department of Industrial and Organisational Psychology as well as those from the School of Industrial Psychology and Human Resource Management
CORE COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of theory and application in Industrial and Organisational Psychology, Labour Relations and Human Resource Management
- Ability to co-ordinate Masters programmes specifically in the field of Labour Relations and Human Resources
- Ability to facilitate teaching and learning at under- and post-graduate levels
- Ability to plan, conduct, present and publish research
- Ability to supervise postgraduate students
- Ability to administer and co-ordinate modules involving large numbers of students
- Ability to provide academic administration and academic leadership
Requirements
To be considered for appointment to the Associate Professor post, candidates must:
- Be in possession of a doctoral degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology or Employment Relations and/or Human Resource Management.
- Have 3-7 years relevant lecturing experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Have published research in accredited journals and conference proceedings.
- Have a track record of successful research supervision and examination of postgraduate students.
Kindly note: Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in coordination of postgraduate programmes in the field of Labour Relations and Human Resources.
In order to be considered for appointment to the Senior Lecturer post, candidates must:
- Be in possession of a doctoral degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology or Employment Relations and/or Human Resource Management.
- Have 2-5 years relevant lecturing experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Have published research in accredited journals and presented research papers at conferences.
- Have a track record of successful research supervision and examination of postgraduate students.
Kindly note: Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in coordination of postgraduate programmes in the field of Labour Relations and Human Resources.
In order to be considered for appointment to the Lecturer post, candidates must:
- Be in possession of a master’s degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology or Employment Relations and/or Human Resource Management.
- Have 2 years relevant lecturing experience and/or experience in facilitation of training in industry / corporate.
