About this role

We are seeking a dynamic, highly organized, and detail-oriented Procurement and Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing procurement processes and ensuring the smooth flow of logistics for our renewable energy projects in South Africa. An understanding of procurement practices, logistics management, and a keen awareness of the renewable energy sector will be advantageous.

Duties and responsibilities

  1. Responsible to coordinate tenders and administer the process.
  2. Maintain the vendor database and vendor registration.
  3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement and logistics records, including purchase orders, invoices, and shipping records.
  4. Generate regular reports on procurement and logistics activities, providing insights into key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  5. Prepare purchase orders for minor purchases and consultants.
  6. Resolve logistics and transportation issues in a timely manner to minimize project delays.
  7. Implement and monitor quality control processes for procured materials and equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  8. Work closely with quality assurance teams to address any non-conformities and ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
  9. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in procurement and logistics activities.
  10. Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with procurement and logistics operations.
  11. Manage defects and warranty claims.
  12. Support the asset management team with ad-hoc procurement.

Required skills and education background

  1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  2. Experience in procurement and logistics, preferably in the renewable energy industry.
  3. Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and the South African regulatory environment.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  6. The ideal candidate would have a passion for the Renewable Energy sector and personality traits would include a high level of diligence, positive and engaged attitude, strong morals, determination, resilience, and agility.

Additional Information

Able to work overtime according to operational needs. The position is based at the offices of the company, but travel may be required occasionally.
