Associate, Financial Institutions Service & Sales (Transaction Banking)

Our Banking and Coverage team owns and leads the management and development of our Client Relationships globally. They work across our global network with product partners to deliver working capital, financing, trade, cash, and market solutions for our clients. The solutions include varied products and services, from sustainable trade finance to credit derivatives, to mergers and acquisitions advisory.

Our Financial Institutions (FI) Bankers are responsible for the strategic coverage of large banks, broker dealers, and non-bank financial institution clients. They use their deep industry expertise to develop and execute the client account plans, across the entire client lifecycle. We're looking for people with a client-first mindset to deliver appropriate products and services for our clients, and are confident working with diverse teams across markets, cultures, and languages.

Key Responsibilities

  1. To provide service management support to the Financial Institution sales clients.
  2. To assist the team's sales portfolio under Financial Institution Sales within Transaction Banking, and the sales activity for the clients assigned, directly.
  3. To provide support to the senior Transaction Banking team in South Africa and broader Southern Africa.
  4. To work with Relationship Managers and other stakeholders in growing the cash management, transaction banking foreign exchange, and trade finance business in line within overall Global Transaction Banking strategy and within risk parameters of the business.

Skills and Experience

  1. Broad banking experience with a deep knowledge of Transaction Banking products.
  2. Practitioner with Advanced / Expert Cash and / or Trade knowledge.
  3. Knowledge of Structuring Solutions and ability to handle documentation.
  4. Strong credit understanding and experience.
  5. Market Intelligence: ability to anticipate global trends in market and impact on strategy and plans.
  6. Capable of analysing working capital and funding needs.
  7. Ability to proactively identify client needs and create solutions to generate new to bank business.
  8. Ability to cultivate a network of relationships in the client with key influencers and senior choice makers to identify and win deals.
  9. Ability to probe the commercial implications of a client's needs and provide solutions and advice that positively impact the client's operational and financial performance.
