Job description

Our client is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager for the wholesale FMCG division!

Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  1. Monitoring and managing stock levels.
  2. Conducting regular stock checks and reconciling discrepancies.
  3. Ensuring accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
  4. Supervising the picking, packing, and dispatching of goods.
  5. Ensuring orders are processed efficiently and accurately.
  6. Coordinating with the sales and customer service teams to meet delivery deadlines.

Staff Supervision:

  1. Managing and training warehouse staff.
  2. Scheduling shifts and assigning tasks.
  3. Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and procedures.

Warehouse Operations:

  1. Overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of goods.
  2. Implementing and maintaining efficient warehouse processes and procedures.
  3. Ensuring the proper maintenance and operation of warehouse equipment.

Quality Control:

  1. Inspecting goods for quality and damage.
  2. Implementing quality control measures and procedures.
  3. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Safety and Compliance:

  1. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  2. Conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments.
  3. Implementing safety training programs for staff.

Reporting and Documentation:

  1. Maintaining accurate records of warehouse activities.
  2. Preparing and submitting regular reports on inventory, staff performance, and warehouse operations.
  3. Analyzing data to identify areas for improvement.

Coordination and Communication:

  1. Liaising with suppliers, transport companies, and other departments.
  2. Coordinating inbound and outbound logistics.
  3. Handling customer queries and resolving issues related to warehouse operations.

Process Improvement:

  1. Identifying opportunities to streamline warehouse operations.
  2. Implementing new technologies and systems to improve efficiency.
  3. Continuously reviewing and improving warehouse processes and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Warehouse or branch management experience
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good leadership skills
  • Strong admin capability
  • Experienced stock manager
  • Own reliable transportation
  • A qualification in warehousing, logistics or similar would be advantageous
