What You Will Enjoy Doing

The Assistant Production Manager supports the Manufacturing Manager and shopfloor operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. This role is part of a structured development program preparing candidates for future Production Manager positions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Trainee Program Participation:

1. Engage in a structured trainee program, scheduling meetings and maximizing learning.
2. Develop expertise in production technologies and specialize in at least two.
3. Understand interdepartmental dependencies and budget execution.

Manufacturing & Production Support

1. Manage production reporting, waste handling, and rework processes.
2. Lead process improvement workshops using LEAN tools.
3. Conduct root cause analyses for production issues and customer complaints.
4. Assist in resource planning and trend analysis for improvements.

Operational Excellence

1. Participate in interdisciplinary projects (NEXT, HSE, 5S, Food Safety).
2. Implement improvement initiatives through training and SOPs.
3. Lead teams, ensuring structured project management and impact measurement.
4. Support change management initiatives.

Production Department Management

1. Conduct supervisor meetings and assist in recruitment and training.
2. Oversee shift handovers, schedules, and compliance with safety regulations.
3. Support disciplinary processes and annual performance evaluations.
4. Provide leave coverage for the Production Manager.

Compliance With GMP

1. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and housekeeping regulations.
2. Maintain 5S principles and support food safety audits (FSSC, ISO 9001).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1. Min 4-year Degree (Associates) in related field or equivalent, bachelor's degree preferred.
2. 3-5 years supervisory experience in applicable technology.
3. Technical / Engineering experience.
