They are currently seeking an experienced Production Assistant Manager to support their operations and uphold their reputation for quality and efficiency.

About the RoleThe Production Assistant Manager will work closely with the Production Manager to ensure efficient production processes, maintain quality standards, and optimise productivity. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing resources, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Experience in the dairy industry is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Production Manager with administrative tasks, including production schedules and timesheets;
• Oversee quality control throughout the production process, ensuring all products meet company standards;
• Ensure proper operation, upkeep, and maintenance of factory equipment;
• Identify improvement gaps and take corrective actions to enhance productivity;
• Manage production costs and inventory to optimise efficiency;
• Monitor production deadlines and ensure they are met;
• Procure and monitor the efficiency of production equipment;
• Update the Production Manager on project status and production progress;
• Liaise and coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth production;
• Uphold health, safety, and food safety policies and procedures in production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Production Management, Operations Management, or a related field;
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role;
• Prior experience in the dairy industry is advantageous;
• Proficiency in quality control, food safety, and production costing;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail;
• Ability to supervise production teams confidently and effectively;
• Competence with computer-based administration, record-keeping, and procurement systems;
• Willingness to work extended hours to meet production deadlines when necessary.
