Yellow Door Energy (YDE) is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Assistant Marketing Manager (with a focus on B2B performance marketing plus more) to join our dynamic team. Play an essential role in YDE's journey and help us drive our mission to provide clean energy solutions.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Assistant Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in developing YDE’s brand presence in South Africa through strategic marketing initiatives. In addition to traditional marketing responsibilities, this role will focus on sales enablement which may include leveraging CRM activities, executing targeted online and offline marketing campaigns, and utilizing performance marketing techniques to drive measurable results. The Assistant Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure all marketing activities directly contribute to lead generation, customer engagement, and sales conversions, aligning with YDE’s business development goals.

Essential for Application:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Commerce, Marketing, Public Relations, or a similar field.
  2. 5-10 years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations in South Africa.
  3. Strong experience with B2B marketing, including demand generation, paid social, content syndication, and CRM tools.
  4. Ability to devise and execute strategic marketing plans and track ROI.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Agency background with a proven track record of managing multiple campaigns and stakeholders.
  2. Strong copywriting and editing skills.
  3. Experience in a multinational, matrix-structured organization.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Sales Alignment and Executive Support

  1. Gain a deep understanding of South Africa’s sales strategy and target industries to support business growth and market positioning.
  2. Collaborate closely with the CEO South Africa and Head of Marketing to align marketing strategies with business objectives, driving sales targets and growth initiatives.
  3. Participate in key customer meetings as a strategic partner, offering insights that strengthen customer relationships and advance sales opportunities.
  4. Design and implement marketing initiatives that are responsive to sales opportunities and market conditions, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs.

Campaign Management and Sales Enablement

  1. Design and manage integrated marketing campaigns (SEO, PPC, paid social, email marketing, events) to support lead generation, brand awareness, and sales objectives.
  2. Implement performance marketing strategies across all channels to maximize campaign effectiveness and optimize ROI using marketing automation and CRM tools.
  3. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, onboard new vendors, and ensure compliance with company procurement and legal policies.
  4. Continuously recommend strategies to enhance YDE’s brand presence, leveraging your understanding of marketing principles and B2B dynamics.

Strategic Content Development and Brand Leadership

  1. Lead the creation of concise marketing and sales enablement content that aligns with YDE’s brand voice and strategic goals.
  2. Conduct industry research to inform content strategy, providing sales teams with valuable insights to strengthen customer relationships and drive sales.
  3. Ensure all marketing materials adhere to YDE’s brand standards, and continuously refine presentations and case studies to address customer needs.

Events and Vendor Management

  1. Plan and execute strategic events, conferences, and project announcements that generate leads and support sales outreach.
  2. Develop and maintain PR and communications programs with external agencies, managing media relations to ensure positive coverage of YDE’s activities.
  3. Oversee relationships with vendors, ensuring alignment with marketing strategies and sales enablement goals.

Ad Hoc Marketing Support

  1. Provide support for various marketing and sales initiatives, including web content updates and campaign adjustments.
  2. Occasionally travel to Dubai to ensure marketing alignment across regions, and provide coverage for international team members during vacations.
