Assistant Accountant

Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Location: Southern Suburbs, Cape Town

Job Type: Full-Time

Hire Resolve's client in the Investment Management industry is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes
2. Prepare and review financial statements and reports
3. Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
4. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
5. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
6. Assist with tax preparation and compliance
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions
8. Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed
9. Other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
2. 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
4. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
5. Excellent organizational and time management skills
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
