Job description

The Ideal Candidate Would Be Responsible For

Applying the correct accounting principles and ensuring that all procedures are in compliance with IFRS;
Reconciling transactions between the Statistical system and ERP system;
Monthly management accounts;
Compiling annual budget packs from budget working files;
Financial year-end packs;
Preparation of weekly forecast of business units;
Annual insurance renewal process;
Audits and ensures compliance with internal control requirements;
Review GL accounts to ensure allocation of costs are in line with Astral policies;
Keep track of capex approval process;
Implementation of new financial systems when required;
Ensures that inventory cycle counts are performed at units, according to a pre-determined timetable;
Ensures that all inventory adjustments are properly authorised.

The Successful Candidate Must Meet The Following Requirements

B. Com Accounting degree with completed articles;
Poultry experience will be an advantage;
Strong Finance business background;
Advanced knowledge in the use of financial software applications, databases, spreadsheets and word;
Must have experience in budgeting procedures, financial reporting and analysis, cost analysis and standard costing, capital application processing;
Assertive, motivated and with strong supervisory skills;
Converse fluently in both English & Afrikaans;
Good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as problem solving and planning skills are required;
The ability to build a strong finance team, train & develop staff, together with personal and professional integrity are key requirements.
