Assistant Financial Manager – Johannesburg (Ref JHB)

JG Afrika is looking for an Assistant Financial Manager for their Financial Department, to be based in Sunninghill, Johannesburg.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Play a leadership role within the finance team (3 staff).
2. Assistance with preparation of monthly and annual financial accounts for audit.
3. Oversight of the payables process.
4. Primary admin relationship with bank partners.
5. Depreciation of fixed assets, and reconciliation of the fixed asset schedules to trial balance monthly.
6. Administrative matters for all instalment sale agreements and mortgage facilities.
7. Preparation and submission for review, of the monthly VAT returns.
8. Drafting annual financial statements using CaseWare.
9. Assisting in the operation and development of the finance department.
10. Revenue recognition and sub-consultant accounting.
11. Accounts receivable recoveries and bad debt management.
12. Expense claims and staff accounts.
13. Payroll cycle and compliance thereof.
14. Income tax and compliance thereof.

Qualifications:

Must have a minimum of a BCom (Hons) Accounting.

Experience:

Should have 5+ years' experience in a commercial / construction / consulting environment with some previous staff management experience.
