Description Our client in the Manufacturing Industry based in Coega, Port Elizabeth, is currently looking to employ an Assistant Accountant (Foreign Transactions).

This is an office-based position in Coega.

Experience with Foreign Transactions and Bookkeeping to Trial Balance secures.

Overview:
The Assistant Accountant (Foreign Transactions) will assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring accuracy in our financial documents for both local and international transactions. This role will contribute to the smooth functioning of the accounting department and support our overall business goals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent required.
  • Degree / diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus.
  • 2 - 5 Years’ experience in an accounting role.
  • Experienced with Books to Trial Balance.
  • Experience in the sales, rental, or construction equipment industry is a plus.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.

Added Advantage:
  • Experience with international transactions and understanding foreign currencies, exchange rates and global banking system.
  • Reconciliation of imported and exported materials, summarizing expenditure schedules.
  • Knowledge of international tax regulations and financial standards, e.g. VAT, withholding tax, and how to apply cross border transactions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with international clients, vendors and banks.
  • Global bank payment methods, understanding.

Responsibilities:
  • Transaction Processing: Assist with recording sales, purchases, and rental transactions related to the sale and rental of generators.
  • Accounts Payable / Receivable.
  • Invoice Generation.
  • Processing: Foreign invoices.
  • Payment Tracking.
  • Bank Reconciliation.
  • Inventory Tracking.
  • Financial Reporting.
  • Document Management.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation of tax documentation and reports as necessary, supporting the accounting team with quarterly or annual filings.
