A leading financial services provider seeks an Area Sales Manager to drive sales growth, expand merchant partnerships, and optimize credit solutions. This hands-on role involves managing credit sales performance, maintaining relationships with hardware merchants, and identifying new business opportunities. The candidate will be responsible for achieving sales targets, implementing strategies, and providing training and support to merchant partners and credit champions, requiring frequent travel within the assigned region.
Minimum Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle (essential)
Minimum 3 years of experience in a sales environment
Experience in hardware, lending, or FMCG sales (preferred)
Minimum 1-year qualification in a relevant field
Ability to travel extensively within the assigned region
Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship management skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Growth:
Execute the annual sales strategy and plan for the allocated region
Identify and onboard new hardware merchant partners
Optimize credit sales performance of existing merchant partners
Use data and reports to track sales performance and implement improvements
Merchant & Partner Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with hardware merchants and credit champions
Provide training, support, and development to improve merchant performance
Conduct regular site visits and in-person meetings to assess business needs
Ensure partner compliance with company policies and regulations
Sales Performance & Reporting:
Monitor and report on sales targets, KPIs, and regional performance
Analyze sales data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement
Implement corrective actions for underperforming merchants
Provide monthly sales reports to management
Marketing & Promotions:
Support the execution of marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns
Ensure proper brand representation and visibility at partner locations
Assist with the distribution of marketing materials to hardware merchants
Team & Stakeholder Management:
Lead, develop, and motivate credit champions to enhance sales performance
Ensure clear targets, goals, and performance tracking for credit champions
Provide ongoing training and coaching to improve sales effectiveness
Address disciplinary issues and performance concerns where necessary
Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders in the region
Operational & Compliance Support:
Assist new merchants with onboarding and system setup
Ensure merchants receive adequate training and incubation support
Maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Handle and resolve customer complaints and operational challenges
