Duties & Responsibilities
Organize and oversee all security operations, command security personnel, develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain security operating standards, demonstrate excellent risk management solutions in surveillance and emergency skills, strong commitment to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety within various client environments.
Execute client site operating procedures as per risk protection requirements.
Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures.
Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses.
Recruit, train, and supervise security officers.
Attend parades, staff, and client meetings.
Plan and coordinate security operations for specific sundry events & SLA requirements.
Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms.
Review reports on incidents and breaches.
Investigate and resolve issues.
Direct wages labour management control.
Contract revenue contribution and overhead control.
Effective logistical control and allocation of equipment, uniform, site assets, communication and patrolling tools, supervisory fuel, and security systems.
Conduct effective site visits, inspections, audits, toolbox talks, health and safety compliance control.
Analyze staff turnover aligned to contract allocation, PRP device, biometric enrollment, clocking, and rostering.
Manage costs in overtime, averaging, and relievers.
Supervise training and development.
Conduct regular pay query investigations, feedback and resolution, regular corrective disciplinary actions, performance assessments, and provide corrective feedback on all subordinates.
Maintain serious misconduct hearings, incapacity sick leave, and poor performance aspects in accordance with the code of conduct.
Ensure SOP and compliance with PSIRA and legislation (i.e., dog handlers) at the site.
Skills and Competencies
Minimum Grade 12 and/or relevant tertiary Diploma (able to deal with complexity and high-level client engagement and analysis).
High financial & business acumen, negotiation and influence - solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis.
Excellent language proficiency and computer literacy - intricate working knowledge of MS Office package.
3-5 years management and supervision experience in DCs and retail.
Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures - outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to manage a team and inspire collaboration and teamwork.
Training and recruitment skills.
Emergency response and alarm systems skills.
Investigation and report writing skills - high-level computer literacy ability.
Qualifications
PSIRA Grade A.
Matric/Grade 12.
Tertiary qualification and/or diploma in Security Management is advantageous.
Proven experience in client-centric public relations and conflict handling as a security manager.
Experience using relevant risk protection technology and systems equipment knowledge (e.g., CCTV, alarms, fire-detection).
Experience in reporting and emergency response planning, dog handling, health and safety.
Valid driver’s license and own vehicle to maintain site visits and investigations.
