Our client, a major retailer, is seeking an experienced Information Security Manager to define and refine a comprehensive security strategy, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical assets and data.

This role involves leading the Cyber and Information Security strategy in alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage Information Security Operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
2. Define and drive cybersecurity policies, architecture, and strategy, balancing security, risk, and budget constraints.
3. Own and execute security projects and initiatives, collaborating with IT, Risk, and Privacy teams to ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, P2PE, POPIA, and other legal obligations.
4. Establish and oversee incident response plans and drills, managing real-time responses and communications with senior stakeholders.
5. Evaluate threat intelligence and risk landscapes, making decisive, technically sound recommendations to mitigate risks.
6. Ensure security compliance and reporting, providing board-level and audit committee documentation as required.
7. Lead and develop the security team and budget, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and cyber-awareness.
8. Design and implement modern cloud security standards, with expertise in AWS, Azure, Office, and cryptography.
9. Promote cyber-awareness programs across the organisation to improve security culture and risk mitigation.

Qualifications & Competencies:

1. 5+ years of leadership experience in Information Security Operations, strategy, or architecture.
2. 10+ years of technical experience in infrastructure services, cloud security, AWS, Azure, and Office.
3. Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk assessment, and compliance requirements.
4. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, AWS Security, or Microsoft Security (preferred).
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex security concepts for business stakeholders.
6. Passionate about security, innovation, and balancing risk with business priorities.
