The Role

WE ARE LOOKING FOR A CANDIDATE WITH SOUND LABOUR LAW ADVICE TO CLIENTS.

We are seeking a highly skilled Admitted Legal Consultant to provide expert legal advice and support to our organization. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in corporate law, contract review, compliance, and risk management. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex legal information in an accessible way. The Legal Consultant will work closely with our leadership team, offering strategic guidance on legal matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and mitigating potential legal risks.

Skills and Experience

What you’ll do:

  • Acts as a functional expert by providing sound labour law advice to clients.
  • Handle activities relating to litigation, negotiations, CCMA & Labour court.
  • Provide relevant and advanced internal and external legal training.
  • Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, opinions, and contracts for clients utilizing sound legal principles.
  • Attend internal and external meetings and provide legal input where required.
  • Perform administrative duties associated with the role, including timely responses to emails, submission of timesheets and travel claims, and filing correspondence for ease of reference.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships with clients & stakeholders.

Your expertise:

  • 5-8 years of labour law experience representing parties in disciplinary investigations and arbitrations.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Specialized knowledge in Labour law for which appointment is made and sound general legal knowledge.
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, law in general and corporate governance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB).
  • Master’s in law (optional).
  • Labour Law training or courses related to Labour Law.
