Job Purpose: The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to manage the knowledge resources related matters of the directorate.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent)
  2. A minimum of 6 years administration experience
  3. A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.

Key Performance Areas:

  1. Contribute to the operational planning of the component by means of knowledge resources input
  2. Implement relevant knowledge resources related aspects of the operational plan and achieve relevant objectives within the prescripts of the relevant regulations
  3. Manage and maintain the relevant business planning processes
  4. Ensure the directorate has effective knowledge resources management systems and processes in place
  5. Manage and facilitate the knowledge resources management processes of the directorate
  6. Provide relevant knowledge resources management processes of the directorate

Knowledge of:

  1. Recreation, MOD Programme, School Sport, Sport and Cultural
  2. Knowledge resources and management
  3. Monitoring and evaluation
  4. Mentoring, assessing and quality assurance
  5. Relevant recreation, MOD Programme, school sport and sport policies, rules and regulations
  6. The White Paper on Sport
  7. The National Sport and Recreation Plan
  8. The Sport for Life Concept
  9. Statutory prescripts surrounding the Public Service, e.g. Public Service Act & Regulations and Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
  10. Knowledge of the relevant regulations and processes.

Remuneration: R - R per annum (Salary level 7).

Note on remuneration: In addition, service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

Notes: Shortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. These candidates will be required to complete a practical assessment and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests.
