Job Purpose

To provide actuarial solutions to internal and external clients within the Non-Life Client Solutions team; in line with Nedbank's Client Value Proposition.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct experience investigations into the performance of non-life products and identify areas of improvement.
  • Assist with the implementation of system enhancements and product changes.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new pricing models.
  • Monitor the results of pricing models and update where necessary.
  • Document existing and new processes.
  • Communicate results to actuarial managers for further action.
  • Be an active and engaged member of the actuarial team.
  • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank culture-building initiatives (e.g., staff surveys, etc.).
  • Express ideas or facts clearly in written documentation so that the content is understood by the recipient.
  • Ensure all personal development plan activities are completed within the specified timeframe.
  • Share knowledge and industry trends with team and stakeholders during formal and informal interactions.
  • Conduct and compile industry research and product development to provide the most appropriate range of products to clients.
  • Identify and interpret relevant information using logic to seek cause and effect relationships.
  • Develop software proficiency to deliver required outputs.

  • Obtain buy-in for developing new and/or enhanced processes (e.g., operational processes) that will improve the functioning of stakeholders' businesses by highlighting benefits in support of the implementation of recommendations.
People Specification

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level:

  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Commerce in Actuarial Science, Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science.

Essential Certifications: Minimum of 4 exams (ASSA preferred).
