Accounting Specialist

Location: Sappi Europe-Finance - Sappi Cracow Centre of Process Excellence. Working in Accounts Payable department for Sappi means everyday challenges.

We are responsible for AP process end to end: invoices, payments and inquiries from our suppliers all around the world. This makes our job interesting – we are having real impact on how our work looks and is performed.

Currently, we are looking for an ambitious individual who will join our Sappi Cracow Centre of Process Excellence to support further growth of our centralized Finance department. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for accounting activities within the Procure to Pay process in accordance with company accounting rules, available process documentation and supplier agreements.

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Sorting, scanning and verification of incoming invoices.
2. Document coding and processing including PO and non-PO invoices.
3. Vendor Master data creation and maintenance.
4. Payment Process: Verification if the proper approval for the payments has been obtained.
5. Processing of the manual payments and payment runs.
6. Solving problems and escalating with other stakeholders if needed.
7. Resolve vendor queries connected to payments, errors on the invoices, reminders, letters, e-mails, calls, etc.
8. External Invoicing: Managing SharePoint Workflow requests for external invoices.
9. Create and post external invoices.
10. Resolving issues related to external invoices.
11. Support in standardization of existing systems and procedures and in automating processes.
12. Be a force of proposition for change/enhancement of the process.
13. Propose recommended action based on sound risk assessment information of the situation.
14. Helping junior specialists with process issues.
15. Reporting / Problem solving: Provide accurate and relevant reports in order to monitor the quality and productivity of the AP process.
16. Regular review of suppliers' sub-accounts and make sure that items are cleaned up; old items followed up.
17. Control and follow up old items on main accounts related to AP bookings (Trade Payables, GR IR).

Your Profile:

1. You have an Accounting, Finance or Business related Bachelor or Master degree or you are during studies.
2. You possess years of professional experience in AP processes (invoice processing, payments, queries).
3. You have very good knowledge of English; German will be an additional asset.
4. You have strong analytical skills and good knowledge of SAP and MS Excel.
5. You demonstrate a structured and analytical approach to gathering, analyzing and presenting data.
6. You are a team player with very good communication skills.
7. You pay attention to detail and possess very good time management abilities.
