Role Purpose

The purpose of the Financial Accountant (Enterprise & Supplier Development) role is to support the financial deliverables of the Enterprise & Supplier Development function by providing accurate, timeous and relevant financial information. The role executes daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial and management reporting activities. The team will look to this role for accurate financial execution, commercial inputs, process refinements to ensure accurate, high quality of ongoing financial support, development and performance is maintained.

Role Description

  • Ensure financial entries are recorded and processed timeously
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, interim, and year-end management reporting
  • Track and report on all financial and non-financial performance metrics
  • Complete tax-packs quarterly
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Compile Annual Financial Statements for Enterprise and Supplier Development entities.
  • Assist with the year-end financial and other audits, including but not limited to preparing supporting documentation for auditors and handling audit queries effectively and professionally
  • Support Financial Manager with reporting and analysis as and when required
  • Support the Enterprise & Supplier Development Team in the execution of all financial related processes and responsibilities.
  • Engage with various and multiple stakeholders (both financial and operational) across the business to ensure alignment on execution and business requirements.
  • Support the team with driving and maintaining corporate governance of contracts, resolutions and authorisations.
  • Manage and maintain related shared documents and access on shared drives.
  • Create opportunities for improved reporting efficiencies through creation of new reports

Qualifications and Experience

  • AGA (SA), AT(SA) or PA(SA)
  • 3+ years relevant post qualification experience - (essential).
  • Demonstrable experience in FMCG or retail environment in a JSE Listed company– (essential).
  • Must have knowledge of accounting principles and applying monthly/quarterly and annual activities including process development, internal controls, financial reporting, reconciliations and disciplines– (essential).
  • Proficient in MS Excel - intermediate to advanced MS Excel - (essential).
  • Exposure to SAP / BPC- (preferred).
