Accountant & Admin Manager

Established National Manufacturing Firm, Montague Gardens


Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric with further studies in Accounting (BCom in Financial Accounting preferred)
  • 10+ years of accounting experience with a strong technical focus on balance sheet and stock reconciliation
  • 5+ years in a management role, ideally within a manufacturing or medium-large organization
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in computerized accounting systems

The Accountant & Admin Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial and administrative functions of the Western Cape branch, ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient financial practices. This position is integral to maintaining the company's financial health, with significant opportunities for professional growth.


Remuneration: R45,000 CTC pm negotiable (includes medical aid, pension fund) + 13th cheque


Competencies:

  • Strong technical accounting skills with an emphasis on balance sheet and VAT management
  • Proficient in financial forecasting, cash flow management, and budgeting
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in compliance with legal and corporate standards

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management
    • Manage the full bookkeeping function, preparing income statements and balance sheets, and conducting reconciliations for control accounts.
    • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial records and reports.
    • Prepare and submit monthly reports, including budget forecasts and cash flow statements, to the management team.
  2. Accounting & Compliance
    • Oversee the preparation and submission of all statutory returns, including VAT and tax compliance.
    • Conduct regular balance sheet reviews, with a focus on stock management and reconciliation.
    • Maintain adherence to GAAP and relevant tax laws, and ensure all entries are properly documented.
  3. Administration Oversight
    • Take full responsibility for all administrative functions at the branch, ensuring smooth daily operations and adherence to internal processes.
    • Oversee debtor, creditor, and cashbook functions, and submit accurate reports to Head Office.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve systems or procedural issues, collaborating with other branches and Head Office as needed.
  4. People Management
    • Lead and develop the finance and administration team, addressing training needs to maintain high competency levels.
    • Handle branch payroll, including salary and commission schedules, leave records, and other HR administrative functions.
    • Maintain open communication with other department managers and branch admin teams.
