Min. BCom qualification. Min 4 to 6 years experience in an Accountant role. SAP experience. True go-getter, vivacious, and robust individual required for demanding role. Experienced in the Manufacturing or retail industry necessary. Highly demanding role.

JOB DESCRIPTION : ACCOUNTANT

My client, a leader in the manufacturing and retail industry and part of a listed group, is looking for a strong, vivacious, and robust individual in the role of Accountant. Minimum BCom degree. Must have solid 4-6 years experience in an Accounting role within the manufacturing industry. Must be fluent in Afrikaans and English (read, write and speak). Must have excellent management of people performance experience. Will work hand-in-hand with Group Financial Manager. Must be willing to work in a fast and demanding work environment. Must be willing to go the extra mile in getting the job done. Must be success-driven and career-oriented.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Responsible for all accounting and management accountants
2. Maintain control sheet for local & foreign capital contracts
3. Foreign creditors payments and recons
4. Check and approve local creditor recons and follow up on reconciling items
5. Responsible for part of month-end journals
6. General Ledger recons
7. Preparation and maintenance of monthly Management Accounts (including SAP recon, queries, and trial balances)
8. Part of quarterly and annual Financial Reporting, working closely with the auditors and rest of finance team
