Accountant
Job description
Our Freight Client is currently looking for an Accountant to join their team based in Durban.
This is an AA / EE Position.
Remuneration: R550k - R600k per annum (Depending on experience), which includes bonus, Aid and Provident fund.
Requirements:
- Bcomm Degree / Bcomm Accounting or Similar
- CA(SA) advantageous
- Strong IFRS knowledge advantageous
- Reports To: Manager / Finance
Systems:
- The below systems experience would be advantageous:
- SAGE 300 People
- Sage Accpac
- Sage ESS
- K2 Workflow
- IDU Budget tool
Main Duties:
- Capture month end journal entries and asset disposals requests
- Reconciliations
- All Debtors and creditors function
- Review of monthly income statement results and analysis of monthly income statement movements
- Adhoc queries from the finance manager
- Perform stock takes on an ad hoc basis and monthly stock reconciliations and investigation of differences
- Preparation of quarterly reporting schedules for audit committee, BBB-EE, Sustainability and Risk reporting
- Prepare detailed income statement and balance sheet reporting schedules
- Preparation of quarterly regional forecast and annual regional budget
- Liaise with internal and external auditors as required
- Ensure that all purchasing procedures and authority limits set out in the approval framework are adhered to
- Review purchase order accruals weekly and follow up on outstanding items
- Prepare daily cash flow reporting
- Collaborate and work closely with the Head Office finance to drive change and improvement and train the Regional Finance team
- Revenue reporting and reviewing of disbursements ageing
- Evaluating financial operations to recommend best practices, identify issues, strategize solutions, and help the organization run efficiently.
- Offering guidance on cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization
- Monitoring procurement spend and BBB-EE related performance
