Kontak Recruitment Agency in Durban is assisting a client to recruit, hire and employ an Account Manager. An emerging company offering a diverse range of premium grocery, dairy products, beverages, and artisanal goods is looking for a Sales Representative/Account Manager to join their team and help grow their footprint across retail, wholesale, and food service channels.

The ideal candidate will manage existing accounts, identify new sales opportunities, and work closely with marketing to enhance brand visibility in the market.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Matric
2. A qualification in sales, marketing, business administration or related field preferred
3. Valid drivers license and own vehicle
4. Proven experience as a Sales Representative in FMCG, preferably in dairy or food products.
5. Strong understanding of retail and wholesale markets.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office
7. Familiarity in CRM advantageous
8. Willingness to travel locally and inter-province as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
2. Build strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, including retailers, wholesalers, and food service providers.
3. Present and promote Artisanal Africa’s product portfolio to meet customer needs and align with company objectives.
4. Manage the sales process, from prospecting and closing deals to providing exceptional after-sales service.
5. Ensure optimal product placement and brand visibility in retail outlets.
6. Monitor and maintain POS material, ensuring it is displayed effectively in stores.
7. Collaborate with marketing to execute promotions, campaigns, and in-store activations.
8. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to provide actionable insights to management.
9. Prepare regular sales reports, including performance metrics and client feedback.
10. Conduct in-store visits across major retail chains such as Pick n Pay, Checkers, Spar, and online platforms like Takealot, Amazon, Woo Commerce and Makro.
11. Participate in inter-province travel (up to 4-day trips) for client meetings, store visits, and promotional activities, with all travel and accommodation expenses covered.
12. Document contract reports and trip sheets for fuel reimbursement.
