Job description

Details on Job Description / Responsibilities:

  1. Managing existing customers
  2. Monthly Sales demand forecasting and reporting through sales project management (Funnel Management)
  3. Prepare activity schedules, activity reports, prospect lists
  4. Visit clients face-to-face and set up and conduct virtual meetings
  5. Sell products / Close deals
  6. Promote products to (prospective) clients
  7. Arrange contract and payment details with the client
  8. Finding potential / new customers in academic and industrial / private sectors
  9. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing and new customers
  10. Arrange and conduct demonstrations / presentations
  11. Arrange deliveries / installation of products
  12. Handle clients' queries in oral and/or written form
  13. Receive customer orders
  14. Update records
  15. Prepare quotations
  16. Arrange servicing of equipment
  17. Provide continuous feedback to the PC Manager
  18. Keep sales records
  19. Organise and attend conferences / exhibitions
  20. Keep track of competitors (products / activities)
  21. Meet sales targets
  22. Train customers
  23. Follow-up on customer payments
  24. Arrange the ordering of equipment
  25. Arrange equipment for branches and congresses
  26. Arrange product-related workshops, congresses, and roadshows
  27. Assist representatives with specific product requirements
  28. Ensure marketing material for the product is current and available
  29. Present market-related data to the Area Manager & PC Manager for budgeting
  30. Keep current records on competitive products
  31. Provide product training to representatives and dealers when required
  32. Provide product demonstrations when required
  33. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve targets and expand customer base
  34. Always stay up to date with products and software through self-learning activities and attending webinars
  35. Participate in budget planning (unit forecasting)

Job Requirements:

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Geology, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or related field. Master's or Ph.D. is preferred.

Experience: Minimum 5 years professional sales experience particularly in scientific or technical products, is essential.

Knowledge / Skills / Other Characteristics:

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions & Other Attributes:

  • Travel intensively in South Africa
  • Own reliable vehicle
