Account Executive

We seek a dynamic and driven Account Executive to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, ideally from a Big Four firm (EY, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG) or experience in tax, fintech, or SaaS industries. This role involves building and maintaining client relationships, driving revenue growth, and positioning THE COMPANY as a trusted partner for tax compliance solutions. You will work closely with the Head of Sales and our product teams to deliver tailored solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities:

1. Business Development & Sales: Identify, engage, and develop new business opportunities by leveraging your network, industry research, and lead generation tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator and ZoomInfo.
2. Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by understanding their unique needs and providing tailored solutions that align with THE COMPANY product offerings.
3. Solution Selling: Present and demonstrate the value of THE COMPANY tax compliance software to prospects and clients, focusing on solving their pain points related to global tax regulations.
4. Negotiation & Deal Closing: Lead the entire sales cycle from initial contact to closing, ensuring that proposals meet clients' goals, including pricing, service levels, and implementation timelines.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Product, Legal, and Customer Success, to ensure seamless client onboarding and satisfaction.
6. Market Awareness: Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and regulatory changes in the global tax landscape, sharing insights with internal teams to refine strategies and offerings.
7. Pipeline Management: Use CRM tools like Salesforce to maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline, reporting regularly on your progress and results to the Head of Sales.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
2. 3+ years of sales experience in tax, fintech, SaaS, or from a professional services firm like EY, PwC, or similar.
3. Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.
4. Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
5. Ability to navigate complex client environments and manage multiple stakeholders.
6. Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales tools (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo).
7. Highly organized, self-motivated, and goal-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Experience:

1. Experience in global tax compliance, VAT, or related fields.
2. Familiarity with tax technology or regulatory software solutions.
3. Previous experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
