Job description
Job title: Academic Support Advisor (Pretoria Campus)

Job Location: Gauteng, Pretoria
Deadline: March 21, 2025

Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:
  1. Providing academic support and development to SACAP’s students
  2. Acting as a point of contact for all academic support and development needs
  3. Responding to and resolving student queries within the stipulated time frames
  4. Involved in termly orientation per new cohort
  5. Monitoring student academic performance and engagement
  6. Tracking and documenting national academic support and development metrics
  7. Study plans and career guidance
  8. Academic one-on-one counselling
  9. Awareness/advocacy campaigns regarding academic issues
  10. Facilitating peer support and peer-assisted learning
  11. Identifying at-risk students and tracking retention
  12. Utilizing SACAP’s Student Management System to provide expert guidance to SACAP students

Qualification & Experiences:
  1. A minimum of an Honours degree qualification in Counselling, Psychology, Coaching, Sociology, Human Resources, Business Management, Bachelor of Social Science or other relevant degree; OR at least 5 years’ experience in a cognate field with high academic results
  2. Advanced computer literacy skills, including online systems
  3. 2 years of full-time experience, preferably within the field of Higher Education
  4. Ability to observe, monitor, collect, and record student data
  5. Knowledgeable and passionate about SACAP and its offerings
  6. Highly developed relationship building/interpersonal skills
  7. Excellent written and spoken communication skills
