Academic Registrar

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Academic Registrar to manage student records, academic transcripts, and data reporting. This role plays a crucial part in supporting students, faculty, and leadership by ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with academic policies. The Academic Registrar also facilitates robust student support by providing insights from academic data to enhance student success.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

1. Student Information Management: Maintain and update student records, oversee registration, and ensure compliance with academic policies.
2. Data Reporting & Analysis: Generate and analyze student performance data, create reports for stakeholders, and support decision-making.
3. Systems Management: Ensure smooth operation of student information systems (PowerSchool, Canvas) and implement necessary upgrades.
4. Graduation Processing: Audit student grades, verify credits, and manage graduation requirements.
5. Academic Policies & Compliance: Review and revise academic guidelines, and ensure compliance with student data regulations (e.g., POPIA).
6. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with academic departments, university guidance teams, and external partners.
7. Technology Integration: Support and improve the use of academic systems and databases for efficient record-keeping and reporting.

3. Strong knowledge of student information systems PowerSchool, and Learning Management Systems (Canvas, Moodle).
4. Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau).
5. Experience with academic policies, compliance, and graduation processing.
