Head of Academics - National role based in Gauteng

A Doctorate in Education together with 8 to 10 years in a tertiary environment is required.

The Dean: Academic is accountable for overseeing and providing strategic academic leadership to the total academic project, inclusive of:

1. Teaching-learning in contact and distance mode of offering
2. Qualifications development and accreditation
3. Lecturer academic development support
4. Student academic development and support
5. Student wellness services and support
6. Scholarly research and innovation
7. Community engagement
8. Library and information services

Strategic academic leadership extends to national and regional/international contexts. Furthermore, the Academic Dean is accountable for ensuring a student-centric enabled academic environment, cost-effective management of academic costs/budgets, relevant and sustainable qualifications program mix (PQM), widening student access and enabling student cohort growth, academic excellence aimed at student academic access, retention, and success, mitigating academic risk leveraging digital structures, establishing governance and strategic stakeholder relations, and retaining and developing high-calibre academic staff aligned with strategic business goals.
