About the job

Veeam is looking for an enthusiastic event marketer with 4-5 years' proven experience in event management to join our Global Events team as a Senior Event Specialist. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, problem solver, communicator, is detail orientated and has excellent project management and organizational skills. This person will support the team who plan, manage, and execute memorable and engaging experiences across a portfolio of internal and external events that drive a variety of KPIs. They must be a self-starter who thrive in ambiguity, proactively seeks solutions, and embrace change with agility. The candidate should be comfortable making independent decisions and taking ownership of tasks while balancing multiple priorities. This person will report to the Director of Global Events but will support other business owners and project leads across several programs assigned by our senior leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Event Strategy & Program Execution
  • Support a variety of global in-person and online events of varying scales, with an emphasis on delivering unique, memorable engagement opportunities for internal and external audiences. Must have experience managing programs end-to-end with 1,000+ attendees.
  • Lead individual workstreams across events, ensuring timely delivery of milestones that align with event strategies and business goals.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product Marketing, Sales Enablement, and Corporate Marketing to define event objectives, align messaging, and ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Vendor & Partner Management
  • Manage day-to-day operations with external agency partners-including briefings, timelines, deliverables, and budgets-acting as the primary contact to ensure timely, brand-aligned execution.
  • Oversee logistics for contingent workers, including onboarding and offboarding, and support team offsites through coordination and execution.
  • Operations & Process Management
  • Support internal department operations, including scheduling meetings, capturing action items, and maintaining team resources and SOPs.
  • Submit and track purchase requisitions and invoices using Coupa; reconcile against event budgets and maintain accurate budget tracking tools.

Event Technology & Data
  • Own the attendee registration process; manage updates to attendee portals and microsites; pull reports and analyze event platform data to evaluate performance and drive improvements.
  • Audience Engagement & Experience
  • Propose, manage, and fulfill attendee gifting and incentive initiatives-sourcing quotes, managing orders, tracking fulfillment, and resolving issues as needed.
  • Continuously optimize event formats and experiences by testing new engagement tactics and technology for both in-person and virtual environments.

Legal & Compliance
  • Submit requests for giveaways and incentives through internal systems; draft terms and conditions; coordinate with Legal for approvals.
  • Manage visa letter requests from creation through delivery; research and apply updated guidelines as needed on a case-by-case basis.

Communications
  • Develop clear, audience-specific event communications, including promotional messaging and attendee-facing content, in collaboration with Corporate Communications to ensure tone and brand consistency.

Experience and Expectations:
  • 4-5 years of experience in event management or experiential marketing, planning and executing event and marketing strategies.
  • The ideal candidate will be an independent self-starter who is proactive, adaptable, and thrives in fast-paced environments with minimal guidance. Must demonstrate resilience, flexibility, and agility through their work.
  • Keen interest in attendee behavior and passionate about creating experiences that create impact and drive change.
  • Must be analytical and data driven. The candidate should love data to help drive decisions and can expertly explain the event data story.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to creatively negotiate demands and manage suppliers such as DMCs, event agencies, and associated budgets.
  • Must be a team player, one who enjoys healthy debate around ideas, someone who drives towards team goals and whose second nature is to lead with trust and empathy.
  • Strong project management skills with a commitment to being highly organized, determined to meet deadlines and focus on quality control. Must have the ability to effectively take a project from ideation through execution, including managing timeline, resources, expectations, deliverables, etc.
  • Must be tech literate. At the heart of everything we do is technology, our product is technology, our audience are tech experts, and our team are constantly using platforms and tools to advance our work and the attendee experience.
  • Must demonstrate hands-on experience working with registration and online experience platforms such as Cvent, Rainfocus Zoom, Teams etc.
  • Must have some experience with contract negotiation.
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate concepts and details across internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working with project management software such as Monday.com.
  • Familiarity with using content management systems such as SalesForce.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be especially skilled in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Must have the ability to travel, internationally and domestically, up to 30% of the time.

The salary range posted is On Target Earnings (OTE), which is inclusive of base and variable pay. When making an offer of employment, Veeam will take into consideration the candidate's expectations, experience, education, scope of responsibility for the role, and the current market demands.

$81,100-$115,800 USD
