Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to work with a leader in the Med-Tech industry, performing a variety of development and production operation activities including planning and coordinating software deployment, implementation of various services involving on-prem and Cloud, developing and maintaining software tools.
Responsibilities:
- Has complete familiarity with the software development process, can identify shortcomings in the process, and recommend modifications to address process issues.
- Communicates with outside decision makers in a manner appropriate to the goals of the communication and has effective presentation skills.
- Able to convey the implications of changes to internal and external partners who have differing levels of understanding of the process.
- Integrates subsystems and components in total systems designs; develops specifications from customer requirements.
- Provides effort estimates for software functionality.
- Plans, conducts, and technically advises projects or sub-systems of significant projects.
- Assesses areas impacted by new feature requests and resolves approaches to accommodate new capabilities.
- Helps implement leading technologies in a technical field.
- Incorporates advancements in technology on current projects.
Required Skills:
- 4 years of proven experience in software engineering.
- Experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud platform such as implementing, configuring, and tuning services involving Microservices, Azure Kubernetes Cluster, Function apps, IOT HUB, APIM, Key Vault, F5 Load Balancers, Azure Express route.
- Experience with build and deployment processes involving CI/CD, Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc.
- Experience in configuration management tools such as Chef.
- Experience deploying mobile applications (iOS and Android).
- Experience in Java & ASP.NET, middleware applications operations and administration, including installation, configuration, and deployment of applications in an enterprise environment involving JBoss, IBM MQ, Active MQ, Liferay portal, CA SiteMinder, WSO2 API manager.
- Good understanding of software programming, software development, database management, networking concepts, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, computer science, related engineering field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Previous medical device experience.
- Familiarity with logging tools, such as Graylog, Splunk.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools: Applications manager, SolarWinds, Prometheus.
- Knowledge and experience in patching, security remediations, security hardening, threat modeling, and pen testing.
- Proficiency with SQL queries and database technologies involving Oracle, Postgres.
