We’re innovators, changemakers, and collaborators. We’re more than just a software company — we’re a cloud-based powerhouse that creates products to make our customers’ lives easier. We’re revolutionizing how people do business, and we want your ideas, enthusiasm, and passion to help us keep innovating.

Who we are looking for:

We are hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer II to join our newly formed Mixed Portfolio Foundation team. The team's mission is to own the foundational architecture and data models that are common to multiple property types, crafting a strong foundation for our Affordable Housing and Student housing teams to build upon. In addition to driving new capabilities, the team will play a key role in strengthening and evolving existing solutions for our Community Association, Commercial, and NYC business segments, ensuring they remain scalable for the 2.5 million units on our platform.

This will be an engineering-driven team where engineers will have the agency to identify and advocate for the changes needed to support other teams. Engineers will play a key role in setting the technical direction and driving best practices to ensure scalability and flexibility. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who has a passion for building leading-edge software and solving problems with long term solutions in order to build a scalable successful SaaS product used by thousands of happy businesses. We foster an environment that empowers small teams to set the technical direction of our solutions collaboratively.

Responsibilities:

  1. Build a deep understanding of our existing mixed portfolio segments, including affordable housing and student housing, enabling you and your team to truly own the foundations of these segments.
  2. Maintain our ongoing business segments, including Community Association, Commercial, NYC and etc, to provide support to the existing 2.5 million units on our platform.
  3. Become a master of your software engineering craft, and work with other software engineers who are smart enough to teach you, and humble enough to learn from you.
  4. Develop scalable, robust, and simple web-based solutions to solve complex business problems for our customers.
  5. Implement new features and optimize existing ones to drive maximum scalability, stability, and performance.
  6. Use test-driven development, code reviews, and continuous integration to deliver high-quality software and rapidly fix bugs as they come up.
  7. Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from other engineering team members, QA, product owners, and our APM customers.
  8. Leverage agile practices to release small batches of value to customers continuously.

You know you’re the right fit if…

  1. 2 - 4 years of experience developing web-based applications, preferably in a SaaS environment.
  2. Proven experience designing complex data models that fit into business and compliance requirements.
  3. Proven experience developing web applications, preferably in an agile SaaS environment.
  4. You’ve heard of Ruby and Rails and have experience working with a language like Ruby, Java, or Python. You may even know enough about React and Typescript to have opinions about how frequently 'the new hot thing' changes.
  5. You love learning about new technologies but understand the value of using something old if it still does everything you need it to do.
  6. You care about the long-term maintainability of the codebase and will learn to advocate for refactoring and clean-ups where appropriate.
  7. You bring your A-game to daily standup competitions — because nothing tastes better than victory (especially when it comes with a free team lunch).

Nice to Have:

  1. Experience working across all levels of the development stack.
  2. Experience with some areas of our tech like Ruby on Rails, React, MySQL, AWS, SOA.
  3. Familiarity with Agile software development processes: Scrum or Kanban.
  4. Familiarity with Test-Driven-Development.
  5. Creativity, ability to solve complex problems without a roadmap.

The base salary that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is $114,400-$143,000.

The actual base salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc.

Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type. Regular full-time employees are eligible for benefits.
