Job description

Location: United States ( East Coast Remote)

Overview: A renewable energy company is looking for a Development Project Manager to oversee the progress of small-scale generation projects throughout the U.S. The role reports directly to the CEO and is part of the development team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Discover new opportunities for floating solar energy projects.
  • Build and nurture connections with property owners, customers, and local communities.
  • Move projects from the planning phase to being ready for construction.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to secure land, permits, and connections to the grid, while adhering to budget and timeline constraints.
  • Work with technical and financial teams to develop solar solutions that balance performance, site conditions, and business strategies.
  • Develop and maintain tools and databases to track project progress.
  • Conduct market and competitive research as required.
  • Support marketing and sales efforts related to assigned projects.
  • Help evaluate potential project acquisitions.

Requirements:

  • Strong interest in the intersection of renewable energy and water resources.
  • Ability to manage projects with tight deadlines and multiple simultaneous tasks.
  • Skill in managing external vendors and consultants to meet project goals on time and within budget.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to project sites.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience analyzing small-scale energy programs and regulatory settings across different U.S. regions to guide project development.
  • At least three years of experience in renewable energy project development, including at least one year focused on small-scale projects.
