Join to apply for the Disability Benefits Specialist role at Fortuna.

As a Veteran Disability Benefits Questionnaire Review (DBQ Reviewer), you will review medical evaluation forms the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) uses to assess a veteran's disability claims. You will collaborate with medical professionals to ensure the completeness and accuracy of medical documentation and examination processes. The DBQ Reviewer will confirm that veterans have been examined for all listed medical issues, verify that the appropriate reporting forms have been used, and ensure documentation meets established standards. This position offers a critical opportunity to support veterans by enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of their medical documentation review.


WORKSITE: Remote

WORK SCHEDULE: Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday

COMPENSATION: $22.00 - $25.00

What You'll Do:
  • Successfully complete the Quality Assurance Training Program.
  • Review medical exam reports to confirm completeness and accuracy.
  • Document quality issues and escalate to management as needed.
  • Interact with healthcare providers to provide report-specific feedback and assist in revising medical exam reports.
  • Meet individual productivity goals.
  • Follow and maintain up-to-date knowledge of SOPs and policies.
  • Maintain a high quality with each review as measured by internal quality auditing.
  • Follow the established escalation process for reviews requiring more assistance or complex reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in the medical field (e.g., as a Scribe, Military Corpsman/Medic, or Certified Medical Assistant); OR
  • At least 7 years of relevant professional experience as a Quality Analyst in a healthcare setting.

Skills And Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate tasks.
  • Ability to quickly learn new computer programs.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams to complete work.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to complete projects promptly.
