About Our Client

Our client is one of the local wholesale building materials companies in the world. For their future development plans, we are looking for a R&D Executive.

Job Description

• Understanding customer requirements and testing procedures to enhance adhesive applications and performance for company product offerings.
• Developing resin formulations according to selected raw material & customer needs, perform application tests.
• Generating new product ideas based on raw material technology in the current marketplace and researching.
• Analyzing the product for performance.
• Formulation and technology concept developments/adaptations in close cooperation with marketing, sales, purchasing, and production.
• Monitoring and evaluating market trends and competitor activities (products/patents/literature) and generating recommendations for new projects/applications/solutions for problems within the framework of a product strategy.
• Supporting the creation of decision matrices in case of cost, time, and content comparison.
• Performing System Requirement Review, Design reviews, and First Article Inspections.
• Troubleshooting issues during pre-production and production.
• Fostering quality communication, team collaboration, and cooperation within and between teams.
• Preparing production instructions for newly developed products, supporting the production team on first productions.
• Creating formulations, quality-control specs, and information necessary for labeling on SAP for the newly developed products.
• Creating raw material supplier alternatives by performing equivalent raw material work.
• Performing cost-reducing work on existing products.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Forest Industry Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience in product/process development, scale-up, and technology transfer desirable functions.
• Formulation experience from scratch or formula modification experience.
• Proficiency in English and other languages is an asset.
• Analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (Preferably SAP).
